Notice to Our EU Customers đŸ‡ȘđŸ‡ș

UPDATED 13.08. - Customers in Germany, France & Netherlands are welcome to order but please expect despatch delays while we get everything set up. For most of you this could be up to 4 weeks from now. As a gesture of gratitude, customers from these 3 countries can enter code WENEEDEU at checkout to save on your order.

All other European countries not yet mention are currently unable to order until we are able to deem it financially viable to do so. Apologies for any inconvenience.

If you’ve tried to check out recently, you might have noticed that shipping to the EU is temporarily off the table.

We want to keep it 100% real with you about why we’ve hit pause, what’s going down behind the scenes, and what this means for the future of Bootyque.

The Reality Behind the Scenes

As a small team, every single order that leaves our warehouse gets packed with extra love and attention to detail. But lately, shipping internationally has gotten a whole lot more complicated.

The EU recently rolled out stricter compliance and recycling requirements—specifically the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws across individual member states.

To clear these new hurdles, businesses now have to:

  • Audit Every Single Layer: From our mailers and boxes to our tape and tissue paper, everything must meet strict new recyclability and chemical standards.
  • Local Registration & Fees: Register, report, and pay recycling contributions in individual EU countries.

  • Heavy Documentation: Produce formal declarations and technical paperwork proving our packaging meets these new environmental rules.

While we fully support eco-friendly initiatives and keeping the planet green, the administrative workload for a small business like ours is massive. Mega-corporations have whole teams of lawyers to handle this stuff overnight; for us, it’s a hands-on learning curve while keeping the rest of the business running.

Why We Chose to Pause (Instead of Rushing It)

Rather than risking long customs delays, rejected packages, or surprise tax bills showing up at your door, we decided the smartest move was to temporarily pause EU dispatches.

Taking a quick step back gives us the time to:

  • Upgrade Our Packaging: Audit our suppliers so we’re using 100% compliant, eco-friendly, and recyclable materials.
  • Set Up the Systems: Get all the official registrations and reporting in order so your orders breeze through customs.

  • Protect Your Experience: Make sure that when you order, your parcel arrives smoothly without any unexpected headaches or extra fees.

What’s Next?

We’re actively working through the new setup so we can get back to shipping your favorite pieces safely, responsibly, and legally.

We love our European community, and pausing shipping was not a choice we made lightly. We’re working behind the scenes to welcome you back as fast as we can!

In the meantime:

  • Stay in the Loop: Sign up for our newsletter to be the very first to know the second EU shipping is back live.
  • Have Questions? If you need help or have a specific question, drop us a line anytime at info@bootyque.co.uk

Thank you so much for your patience, your understanding, and for continuing to support an independent brand. It truly means the world to the Bootyque team! 💖

25th June 2026

If you are one of our wonderful customers shopping from inside the European Union, we want to give you a quick, transparent heads-up about a new EU import rule taking effect on July 1, 2026.

To level the playing field for local businesses, the European Union is officially ending the "duty-free" exemption on packages valued under €150. Moving forward, a flat €3 customs duty will apply to low-value imports entering the EU.

Here is exactly what this means for your future orders with us:

1. No Surprise Fees at Your Door

We believe shopping should be stress-free. To make sure your package doesn’t get held up at the border or hit with surprise penalty fees by the postman, we will calculate and collect this €3 fee directly at our checkout. What you see at checkout is the final price—no hidden delivery fees.

2. How the Fee Accumulates

The EU applies this €3 flat fee based on the category of products in your cart, rather than the box itself.

  • If you buy two of the same item, you will only be charged one €3 fee.
  • If you mix and match different types of items (like tights, a lashes, and a bra) in a single order, the fee stacks per category (in this case, €9 total).

3. Returns are Non-Refundable

Please note that because this fee is paid directly to EU Customs the moment your package crosses the border, the €3 duty cannot be refunded if you choose to return an item.

We appreciate your continued support! If you have any questions about an upcoming order, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.
